IFCA Signs on to Support Letters Regarding Pesticide Labeling Under FIFRA
EPA currently has open a public comment period on a petition filed by several state attorneys general (AG) requesting EPA to initiate rulemaking to clarify that statements on pesticide labels regarding health claims that are inconsistent with EPA’s finding would be false and misleading under federal pesticide law (comments on the petition are due February 20). This petition if very well in alignment with the bipartisan Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act, reaffirming under federal pesticide law that states cannot impose labeling requirements different from EPA’s findings, which IFCA expect to be re-introduced soon for this Congress.
This week IFCA sign-on to two letters supporting both the State AG petition and the reintroduction of Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act.
