Dr. Leanna Nigon
The Fertilizer Institute
Leanna Leverich Nigon is the Director of Agronomy & Research at The Fertilizer Institute, where she leads the Science and Research Program focused on 4R nutrient stewardship. She works to align research with industry needs, creating tools and resources to support farmers and the fertilizer sector. Leanna holds a BS in Agronomy and Communications from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and an MS and PhD in Soil Science from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. Her background and research expertise is in soil fertility, GIS, and ML for nutrient management. Leanna grew up on a cash crop farm in Wisconsin, where she currently resides with her family.
