Dr. Zhongjie Yu
Dr. Yu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interest is at the intersection of watershed hydrology, nitrogen biogeochemistry, and agricultural sciences. He is also interested in developing and applying novel stable isotope techniques to trace coupled water and nitrogen transport in agricultural and hydrologic systems. In addition, he teaches courses in Aquatic Biogeochemistry, Soil and Water Conservation, and Topics in Isotope Hydro-Biogeochemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Biogeochemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018. Before joining UIUC, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota, where he conducted research on greenhouse gas emissions from Midwestern agricultural systems.
